Will be a night I will never forget....
I left school early with my buddy and we went to her house. Her dad picked us up and we headed to Greensboro to see Nine Inch Nails in concert. We stopped in Siler City for a bite to eat and traveled to the Greensboro Coliesum. Getting in line, we waited for like an eternity before the doors opened at 7:30pm, then inside we made our way to the arena. By the way, we were in the pit. After about 40 mintues, the opening act hit the stage. It was a band called Health...not impressed. I believe that Trent had them as an opening act so we would be begging for forgiveness by the time he hit the stage. It was like cancer to the ears I swear...
Anyways, after they finally exited, we waited another 40 mintues and everything went dark. The first member I saw what Josh as he started up 1,000,000, while only the lights were only on him. Then the stage lit up and Trents runs out with Robin as the song began. I told my buddy that the only person i'll be looking at is Robin and I had the perfect spot. No heads were in the way as I kept my eyes glued to him until the pit started to move around, this happened as soon as March of the Pigs began. Then I lost him, but he came back!
The band went through a lot of songs ranging from Pretty Hate Machine to The Slip, but most of the songs were from The Slip album including Disclipine which I not a big fan of. About midways through the concert the pit shifted again and Mr. Reznor was right in front of me with no one blocking my view. I pretty much shit my pants. They played a lot of their popular songs but when Trent began to play The Frail on his keyboard I knew what was coming, The Wretched. Of course I died a little inside....

The most hilarious moment of the concert, was during Survivalism. There were a bunch of random screens up on one of the LCD screens, like in the music video. Some of the scenes were of the audience and I believe two of them had "CENSORED" across them, but one of the screens in the middle was completely random. It was positioned right above Trent's head and it was a boy's bathroom. Two males walked in and automatically began making out and taking their clothes off. And yes, the fucked each other, but what was funny was the audience didn't even notice this until the boy's had pulled their pants up and began exiting the bathroom. Priceless.....
Anywho, after Echoplex the first screen dropped with the NIN logo in red and I almost cried because I though it was over. About 10 mintues later the lights went out and Trent walk onto the stage to begin God Given. Fucking brilliant! And of course it wouldn't be a Nine Inch Nails concert without Trent talking about something. It was obviously politics and the future president which was decided today. Let's just say he pissed off a lot of Republicans, hahaha.
The next song was Hurt and I thought for sure that would be it, but NO!! Their last song was my favorite of the concert, In This Twilight. And then it was over.
This was for a fact my very first concert ever and what better way to begin than with my most favorite band, EVER.
It was such an honor to be in the presence of my biggest idol, especially to have him standing and singing so close to me.
Nine Inch Nails forever.
